FEBRUARY UPDATE

Hi everyone, it’s February and Spring is not too far. Hope everyone had a Happy New Year and are sticking to their resolutions (yeah right).   Happy Valentine’s Day and on February 1st, we will be having our Valentine’s Day Dance featuring The Jukebox Legends.  Everyone will be having a great time dancing or listening to their music.  
 
Our December Pasta Dinner Meeting was a success and the Donovan Catholic Choir sang some favorite Holiday songs.  At this month’s meeting we will be entertained by Lisa Van, which has sang for us in the past.  In March, we’ll have our St. Patrick’s Roast Beef Dinner, tickets will be sold this month for $8.  
 
Our Bunco Party is coming on March 8th, everyone has a good time going from table to table.  Come have lunch and a great afternoon.  Don’t forget to get your tickets to see “Ain’t Too Proud”, which is the story of the Temptations.  In May, we are having our annual Mother’s Day Luncheon at the Clarion.  In July, we are taking a trip to Sight and Sound Theater to see Queen Esther.  Tickets are sold Friday mornings in the auditorium from 9:30 to 11:00 AM for all our functions.  Also, please buy our 50/50 chances which help us pay for table setups at our meetings.  Dorothy Schuh is our liaison for the USO and Terri is our Sunshine Lady (732-240-1223).  Be sure to call her if you know anyone who had been hospitalized or lost someone.  These ladies are doing a great job.  
 
Also, our soldiers are in need of knitted Afghans, toiletries, among other items.  Please bring your items or food and give to Marge or Jean at our monthly meetings.

JANUARY UPDATE

Hi everyone, Happy New Year and let 2020 be a happy and healthy one.  Now that the holiday season is over, hope everyone enjoyed theirs and got what they wanted.  Whether you received a beautiful gift or spent time with loved ones and don’t forget, there’s always eating.  Our luncheon at the Clarion was a success, all the ladies had a good time.  We also received many raffle gifts and thank all the generous members.  At our meeting this month, we will be entertained by Molly Sperduto.  She is a one women comedy act, so come have a good laugh.  Alice collected gloves, scarves and hats for the Ocean County Health Department and were delivered and the kids were happy picking them.  The Christmas baskets were given to families in December and they were grateful, as usual.  Again, February 1st is our Valentine’s Dance and again, by popular demand we will have The Jukebox Legends.  Everyone enjoyed their music last year and had a great time dancing or just listening.  Come see this great group perform at the clubhouse.  On April 29th, a trip to see Ain’t Too Proud, which is the story of the Temptations.  In July, we are taking a trip to Sight and Sound Theater to see Queen Esther.  Tickets are sold Friday mornings in the auditorium from 9:30 to 11:00 AM for all our functions.  Also, please buy our 50/50 chances which help us pay for table setups at our meetings.  Dorothy Schuh is our liaison for the USO and Terri is our Sunshine Lady (732-240-1223).  Be sure to call her if you know anyone who had been hospitalized or lost someone.  These ladies are doing a great job.  Also, our soldiers are in need of knitted Afghans, toiletries, among other items.  Please bring your items or food and give to Marge or Jean at our monthly meetings.

OCTOBER UPDATE

Hi everyone, hope everyone had a nice Labor Day.  It’s October and summer is over and before we know it, the Holidays will be upon us.  Yes, already. Halloween is this month and make sure you don’t eat too much candy.   
 
Our monthly meetings have started and last month, John Sebastian, formally from Sounds of the Street and currently with the Jukebox Legends sang for us.  This month we will be entertained by Bob Kulik who recently was inducted to the East Coast Music Hall of Fame.  We are sure to enjoy his music. This year we’ll have great entertainment at our meetings, so be sure to attend.  Membership is still being sold for the 2019-2020 season on Friday mornings for only $5, so come join.

SEPTEMBER UPDATE

Hi everyone, Happy Labor Day, it’s September and summer is almost over. As usual, it flies by and before we know it, fall is here.  Hope everyone’s summer was great.  Now it’s time to start with our monthly meetings and this year we will have great entertainment for you.  This month, John Sebastian, formally from Sounds of the Street and currently with the Jukebox Legends will be entertaining us.  He is going to continue where he left off at our last meeting.  Membership is now being sold for the 2019-2020 season on Friday mornings for only $5, so come join. 
 
This year, meetings will be held on the 3rd Thursday of the month.  We have new officers this year, give them a great welcome.  Come meet new friends and have a nice evening out.  Our annual fish fry was August 3rd, and was a hit as usual.  We enjoyed the food and spent time with friends, and enjoyed some music with dancing.  Our annual picnic was fun.  We all had a great time and ate.

JULY UPDATE

Hi everyone, Happy 4th of July. Don’t forget to wear your red, white and blue. Hope everyone’s summer is good so far. The Grandchildren have graduated, celebrations are over and time for the pool. June’s meeting was our Officer Installation Dinner and we have some new Officers. Congratulations to our new Treasurer, Betty LaManna and our new Assistant Treasurer, Dolores Urbanowichy. Dolores will now longer collect money and food, Jean Roga is taking her place. Good luck to all these ladies. Also, our second annual Scholarship Award was given to Emma Nomoki. Keep up the good work, Emma.
 
July is here and time for our annual picnic. Come have some fun playing games, eating barbecue food and spending a fun afternoon with friends. Our annual fish fry is August 3rd. Hi everyone, hoping everyone had a great Memorial Day, which is the official start of summer and a Nice Mother’s Day. Flowers are blooming, time for barbecues with family and friends & Graduations. It is also time to start complaining about how hot it is and we’ll get through it like every other year. This month’s meeting is our Officer Installation Dinner. Our entertainer is Nee Nie D. She has been singing since college. She has a long list of credits ranging from opening for the Platters in Atlantic City to Morse Supper Club in Freehold and the lead singer of the Sure Cats. Don’t miss this night ladies, you won’t be disappointed.

MAY UPDATE

Hi everyone, hoping everyone had a good Easter or Passover and spent time with family and friends. Well, May is here, and summer is around the corner. Good- bye to winter with the cold and snow it brings. As I said before, it wasn’t that bad this year. Ladies, mark your calendars and don’t miss the May meeting.  Our entertainer is the very talented John Sebastian, formally from the Sounds of the Street and currently with the Jukebox Legends. 
Our annual Mother’s Day Luncheon at the Clarion will be May 6th. If you haven’t purchased your ticket, come to the clubhouse on Friday morning and see Pat Yamelski. You will have a great lunch, enjoy music and dancing and it’s a nice afternoon to spend with friends. Maybe you will be one of the lucky ones to win a raffle prize that were donated by our members. 
 
The 3 Easter baskets were given to families and as usual, they were appreciative because they could really use the food and gift card. I’ve said it before, our club members and very generous.  
 
One of Alice’s trips will be the Broadway Show “Pretty Woman” on June 12th.  This show is supposed to be very good, come see for yourself. Summer is coming and time for our annual picnic and fish fry.

APRIL UPDATE

Hi everyone, Happy Easter and Passover. Well, April is here and hopefully good weather is upon us.  As I am writing this in March, we didn’t have such a bad winter, just cold but little snow.  Let us have a nice spring before the summer comes, we’ll complain it’s too hot.  At this month’s meeting, you will enjoy our entertainment, singer Lisa Van which will sing some of our favorite songs.   Our annual Mother’s Day Luncheon at the Clarion will be May 6th.  We need gifts for our raffle table and Fran Rhinehart will be collecting them on Friday mornings in the auditorium.  Be sure to purchase your ticket, you will have a great lunch and enjoy music and dancing. Hi everyone. It’s March, hope everyone had a nice Valentine’s Day.  Well, March is here, and we are closer to Spring and as I’m writing this, it is still freezing out there.  Our Valentine’s Day Dance was a huge success.  Music was performed by The Jukebox Legends and was very good and everyone had a wonderful time.  March 10th is our Bonco Party and the cost is $13 which includes lunch.  Come have a fun Sunday throwing dice, you might get the most Bonco’s.  Our March dinner/meeting will be our St. Patrick’s Day Roast Beef Dinner and our entertainment will be dancers from The Devrin Academy of Irish Dance.  Come enjoy these young performers dance to Irish Music and show their talents. Hi everyone. It’s January, wishing you a Happy and Healthy New Year. May this year be better than the last. We all survived the Holiday Season, hopefully got what we wanted and as usual, ate too much. Our annual Christmas Luncheon at the Clarion was great again this year. Food was good, the music and dancing was enjoyed, and our members were generous again with their raffle gifts. Alice delivered children’s hats and gloves for the Health Department’s annual holiday tree, this is with the big hearts of our ladies and again a huge success. Hi everyone. It’s December, Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukah to all. May we all enjoy the last month of the year celebrating the holidays and again, spend time with family, friends, buy gifts and eat all the goodies. This time of year, we try to help those who are less fortunate, and you feel good about doing this. Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. December 3rd is our Women’s Club Christmas/Holiday Party and hopefully our members donated needed gifts to make it another success. This month’s meeting will be Tuesday, December 11th and our entertainment will be Donovan’s Catholic singing holiday songs which are enjoyed by our members and, we have Expressionist Annette Curran. Last month we gave Thanksgiving baskets to 3 families which were greatly appreciated. This month, Christmas baskets will be given. This is possible with your generous contributions at the beginning of our monthly meetings. Thank you. Next month’s meeting is Tuesday, December 11th. Alice brought the collected children’s hats and gloves to the Health Department’s annual holiday tree. With the Holidays over, we will be planning our Valentine’s Day Dance. NOVEMBER UPDATE

Hi everyone. It’s November and Happy Thanksgiving to all. Time to spend with family, friends and eat too much. Have a safe one and be thankful for all we have. Halloween is over, and we went trick or treating and ate all the candy, ha-ha. This month’s meeting on November 29th, is our Thanksgiving Pasta dinner and our entertainment will be Barbra Petrizzo, which is the winner of the Laurita Winery Idol. December 3rd is our Women’s Club Christmas/Holiday Party. It will be at the Clarion and the cost is $25.00. We need gifts for our raffle table and will be collected on Friday mornings and as always are greatly appreciated. Ticket sales for this event start Oct. 26th. Be sure to purchase your tickets on Friday mornings in the clubhouse auditorium between 9:30 to 11:00 AM for all the events.
 
Next month’s meeting is Tuesday, December 11th. We will start collecting children’s hats and gloves for the Health Department’s annual tree. Please bring these items to the meeting or see Alice for details. Also, we will give 3 food baskets to families who can really use them, your donations at the beginning of our meetings help make this possible, thank you. Hope to see everyone at this month’s meeting.

Hi everyone. It’s October and fall is upon us. Hope everyone’s Labor Day was good because it marks the official end of summer. Halloween is at the end of the month and it’s either cold or still warm, we will find out. There weren’t many trips in September, so nothing to report. Hi everyone. It’s September and summer is almost over. Hopefully the weather will hold out for a few more months. August 4th was Alice’s Fish Fry. The fish was wonderful, and everyone had
a great time listening and dancing to good music. It was a full house and was a huge success, as
usual. The trip to see “Saturday Night Fever” was great. The show was good, and the dinner was
very enjoyable.
 
Remember, you can get your membership for the 2018-2019 year every Friday

Hi everyone. It’s August already and I hope you had a Happy 4th. The summer is half way over and there is still time to enjoy your summer activities. The summer goes so fast and the winter goes so slow.
 
Our annual Women’s Day Picnic was great, as usual. Everyone enjoyed the chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers and company of good friends. They also showed their skill at some games.

JULY UPDATE

Hi everyone. It’s July already and everyone have a Happy 4th. Our last meeting of the year was our Officers Installation Dinner, over 200 attended, and the food was delicious. The Officer Installation Ceremony was very nice and we’re good for two more years. Our current President, Marianne Petrozzino presented Joan Lorenc with a beautiful Plaque for her 15 years of service with the Club. Also, one of the dessert cakes was for Joan.
 
Our entertainment was Memories who sang some great songs. It was a great year with some good dinners and entertainment and may next year be better. Also, July 5th is our annual Women’s Day Picnic. Come join us for good food which includes chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers and sides, and participate is some games. Hi everyone. It’s June and hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day. June is here, time for barbecues, weddings and graduations. The flowers have bloomed, and grass will be mowed regularly. Also, time for the pool and hopefully, we have a nice summer with good weather. Our June meeting is the Officers Installation Dinner and tickets are $6, make sure you purchase yours. Hi everyone. It’s May and hope everyone had a Happy Easter and Passover. The April showers are over, and it is time for some nice weather. We celebrate Memorial Day this month and want to thank all who gave their lives for our country. It’s hard to believe we survived another winter. May’s entertainer for this month we will have Bill Legregni.
 
May 7th is our annual Mother’s Day Luncheon at the Clarion. The cost is $25.00. We need gifts for the raffle which are greatly appreciated, and we are still collecting this Friday. Our June meeting is the Officers Installation Dinner and tickets are $6 and will be available May 1st. Hi everyone. It’s March, and Spring is coming soon (hopefully). It’s been cold this winter and we have been staying in. Our trip to Resorts Casino to see “Andre & Cirell” was great. Everyone enjoyed the show and hopefully won some money. At our February meeting, we had Dave DeLuca entertain us with some love songs. Also, at our March meeting, we will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day,
serving a Roast Beef Dinner. The cost is $6.00. We will be entertained by singer Gerard Esposito. This month we are preparing Easter Baskets and your donations make this happen, thank you.
