AUGUST 2018

And it has for 34 years! The original bowling league of Holiday City South was a place of great fun and happiness throughout all those years. We have so much fun left over that we are willing to give a bunch of it to our new bowlers! We welcome all bowlers with open arms and not a lot open frames.

Hopefully!!
We bowl at Playdrome on Fridays at 1:00PM. At the present time we are suggesting a starting date of August 17th. Three-man teams will still be the
format. You may bring your own team members…. so c’mon, dust off those shoes, grab your bag and come join all in our merriment. Please call me at (732) 286-1794 if you have any questions or suggestions. Thank you!

SEPTEMBER 2017

Holiday City South Bowling League at Ocean Lanes

By Barbara Sassano
President: Carol Green 908-783-2522

Now is when we realize that three quarters of the year have gone by already – so fast. We are about to celebrate “Labor Day” on September 4th, with barbeques, family get-togethers and changing weather of sizzling heat to hopefully some beautiful days of fall.

Then we celebrate Patriot’s Day. This year it falls on September 11th; how appropriate. As this day is already so solemn, I can only wish that we continue to heal and seal this day with love in our hearts but proceed with hope, realization and caution, God Bless us all.

On a lighter note, we then have the autumnal equinox on September 22 – beautiful and interesting to see – enjoy.

So now down to business. Our summer bowlers are working hard at achieving their goals of reaching that elusive 200 game. Here are the ones who made it: Tom Gerstner 244, 211 twice, Tom Gillespie 229, Bernie Maiorana 219, Bo Clarity 203 and 204, Thomas Carr 213, Nick Orlando 201 and 212, Paul Sparta 210, Phil DeCarlo 202, Herb Eyth 201, Don Rodenbeck 200, Paul Rabenda 203 and 216, Gasper Migliorino 207 and 211 and the ladies joined in too: Barbara Kubatz 223, Helen Cochrane 204 and 221.

In our “of so close” group, I must give kudos to Joe Lyons who first bowled a 199 and determined he then bowled a 202.
We mustn’t forget those splits that come way too frequently, testing our skills – Tom Gerstner 4-9, Thomas Carr 5-10, Marta Musiakiewicz 3-10 and 6-7-10, Margaret Sinnig 5-7, Helen Cochrane 3-10, Rich Leonte 6-10, Kathleen VanCleef 4-5-10, Arlene Hiller 5-9-10.

The summer season will be over in three weeks and next month will reflect the final standings. I’m sure everyone is waiting with bated breath – or they’re at least anxious. The 13 weeks went by very quickly – seems as if it’s ending before we could get a good start. Sigh!

Remember to pray for the troops that they all come home safely.

God Bless America!
