So-Sew Club

ABOUT CLUB

MARCH 2020

The Sew So Club meets every Thursday in September through June at Clubhouse I at 12:30.  Official meeting starts at 1 p.m. We generally end between 2:30 and 3 p.m. We have 30 to 40 members each week.  We spend all year making Afghans, baby blankets, hats and scarves as well as lap blankets.  They are distributed to nursing homes in the area, the Board of Health and hospitals.  We do all kinds of work which includes needlepoint, crocheting, knitting and many other crafts. Some of our members just come to enjoy coffee and cake and socialize with other members.  We also have a couple of parties throughout the year to celebrate holidays. We are having a St Patrick’s Day lunch on March 12. Our group definitely likes to party. We are a very friendly group so please think about joining us.

We are looking for donations of skeins of wool to help us create our wonderful items. If you can, please call Eva Colosi, 908-216-8589.

FEBRUARY 2020

At our December 11th meeting the Sew So members brought in articles they made throughout the year.  We had a large table filled with many beautiful baby blankets, hats, scarves and mittens in many different colors and sizes which we donated to the Board of Health.  Beautiful lap blankets and Afghans in all colors were donated to the Holiday Care Center and the Arbors Nursing home.  I am very proud of the women in our club.  They really work hard during the year and it makes us happy that people are getting comfort from our donations.

Our Christmas Party was held on December 19th at Italy’s Best.  As always a memorable time was had by all. We are always looking for new members so please join us on Thursdays at 12:30 p.m. in Clubhouse I.  We spend all year making Afghans, baby blankets, hats and scarves as well as lap blankets.
